When the match had gone on for 23 minutes, Hilario Bertol took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Mariano Justin to make any attempt to save it. Samuel Virila scored 1-2 in the 37th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gavino Estebe, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Samuel Virila came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Defensores Del Sur fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Samuel Virila couldn't finish the play. Arrecifes's Gavino Estebe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Samuel Virila in the 44th minute of play. The long shot by Remigio Quinito in the 47th minute really tested Mariano Justin's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Hilario Bertol to strike the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Arrecifes's goal looked a bit too open when Leo Pelagius came free, but Gavino Estebe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Valentin Lopes's late challenge caught a Defensores Del Sur's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. A nice corner shot did that Apolo Endura got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Gavino Estebe quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. With a little luck, Arrecifes's Gavino Estebe got control of the ball when Samuel Virila tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 88th minute, Samuel Virila fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. After 90 played minutes Defensores Del Sur got a freekick which was hit by Leo Pelagius. An unexpectedly hard shot by Baldomero Toli in the 93rd minute of play forced Defensores Del Sur's goalkeeper Mariano Justin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gavino Medardo hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
