Ariel Cugat made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Justo Nikola in the 20th minute of play. Ariel Cugat showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Artemio Valerio, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. After 24 played minutes AC Milan got a freekick which was hit by Osvaldo Ardiles. After some fancy dribbling in the 24th minute, Robustiano Lorencio managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tobas's supporters rose to their feet, but Robustiano Lorencio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ariel Cugat breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 28 minutes into the game, Justo Nikola recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Ariel Cugat. Justo Nikola showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. 39 minutes into the match, Tobas's goal looked a bit too open when Örjan Källberg came free, but Mark Sörman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 40th minute, Luis Juvenal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Jean-Charles Pitiot had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 42 played minutes Tobas got a freekick which was hit by Filiberto Eliu. An unexpectedly hard shot by Robustiano Lorencio in the 45th minute of play forced AC Milan's goalkeeper Ariel Cugat to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

After having played for 66 minutes, Marcos Rius managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. After a defensive mix-up in Tobas's zone, Örjan Källberg stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mark Sörman came out of the goal and Örjan Källberg tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 92 minutes into the match, AC Milan's goal looked a bit too open when Justo Nikola came free, but Ariel Cugat reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ariel Cugat stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Justo Nikola's shot from short distance in the 96th minute. 98 minutes into the match, AC Milan's goal looked a bit too open when Artemio Valerio came free, but Ariel Cugat reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
