The Amapola fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nicanor Sotil should have stopped the shot. In the 32nd minute of the match, Justo Velasco got a very nice opportunity to score, but Reynaldo Dalmai was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. When Erubiel Cuarto fell near the penalty area in the 34th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Amapola's protests and gave Erubiel Cuarto a yellow card for diving instead. With a left leg Nicanor Sotil saved Amapola from getting behind. Matias Martino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nicanor Sotil having to interfere. In the 45th minute, Maximiliano Basajaun left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Club Deportivo San Diego fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

Club Deportivo San Diego's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
