In the 24th minute Maximo Jaen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Natalio Guerrero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 25 minutes into the match, Alberto Chap dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Arkadiusz Barys, 1-2. Igor Guter fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Natalio Guerrero having to interfere. If Filomeno Mambru had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 39th minute, Jesus Rosalio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 46 minutes into the match, Báez's goal looked a bit too open when Igor Guter came free, but Natalio Guerrero reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

With a little luck, Báez's Natalio Guerrero got control of the ball when Maximo Jaen tried to sneak it across the goal line. Florentino Astudillo charged in rather forcefully in the 55th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. After 75 minutes, Stevie Bright mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Báez and the Filgueira Juan Club players grew even worse after the yellow card. Natalio Guerrero made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Filomeno Mambru in the 91st minute of play. 96 minutes into the match, Filgueira Juan Club's Igor Guter sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Natalio Guerrero narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Filgueira Juan Club's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
