After a defensive mix-up in Batel's zone, Silvio Frans stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ruperto Nuñez came out of the goal and Silvio Frans tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jonas Estebano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ruperto Nuñez having to interfere. Gerardo Columbo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 19th minute of the match, but Ruperto Nuñez made a huge save. In the 21st minute, Cristo Cebrian hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gerardo Columbo was extremely unlucky when he, in the 22nd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. 27 minutes into the match, Anisacate's Jonas Estebano sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ruperto Nuñez narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 28th minute Cristo Cebrian shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sergio Nevada saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Daniel Colas during the 31st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 45th match minute, Batel was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Abel Santio to maneuver through the defense. Daniel Colas hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. After the first half Batel were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jonas Estebano to make the kick off. Ruperto Nuñez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gerardo Columbo, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Anisacate's Sergio Nevada played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Justo Loren in the 53rd minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Justo Loren in the 58th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sergio Nevada prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, Anisacate's Ramon Aztore got a free kick in the 60th minute. Celedonio Sanduru was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 63 minutes into the match. Ruperto Nuñez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gerardo Columbo in the 97th minute of the match. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Anisacate lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
