In the 27th play minute Severiano Tino came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Leonardo Mancio. 1-1. In the 30th minute, Jeronimo Ramirez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 32nd minute Deportivo Leo were awarded a corner. Doug Warne went to the cornerflag to take it. When the match had gone on for 36 minutes, Allan Pennington put it in 1-2 from a short distance just to the right of Abdi Hunalp. Jeronimo Ramirez hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. After the first half Deportivo Leo were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Fausto Padro to strike the kick off in the second half. 61 minutes into the match, Deportivo Leo's goal looked a bit too open when Roberto Koldo came free, but Leonardo Mancio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Deportivo Leo's Fausto Padro was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 62nd play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. The supporters of Deportivo Leo booed when Lavalle was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jesus Papo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Abdi Hunalp was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Lavalle made a substitution. Julian Gelmiro replaced Rodolfo Obeko. Marcial Cugat kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. Through an outstanding action, after 85 minutes, Abdi Hunalp successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 94th minute, Severiano Tino made a precise shot to the right of Leonardo Mancio. Deportivo Leo's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-4. The Lavalle supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Deportivo Leo's performance. The match ended with a win for Deportivo Leo.
