The nice shot from Primitivo Hermelando in the 20thth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Leontin Troncotă had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. Edgard Jakes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Antonio Escobar having to interfere. In the 23rd minute, Edgard Jakes made a precise shot to the right of Antonio Escobar. Churqui AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Primitivo Hermelando struck a weak shot in the 27th minute. Leontin Troncotă didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Churqui AFC. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Israel Montae stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 62ndth minute of the game Israel Montae who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Newell´s Old Boys's Leontin Troncotă was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gaudencio Ayala during the 66th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Primitivo Hermelando sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Leontin Troncotă showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gaudencio Ayala, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. The supporters of Newell´s Old Boys booed when Churqui AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Isaias Rami didn't get a good kick on the ball.
