After a rather tough play, Maravilla's Luis Calisto got a free kick in the 13th minute. Rosendo Goiz did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-0 to the left of a surprised Roman Muench 17 minutes into the match. Erasmo Colas scored 3-0 in the 38th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Roman Muench, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Luis Calisto to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Maravilla booed when Vélez Sarsfield was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rodrigo Maju didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Ladislao Ignado kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Serafin Indartsu. That made the score 3-1 in the 53 minute of play. In the 56th minute, Erasmo Colas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Roman Muench didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Rosendo Goiz went, in the 58th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-1 was the resulting score. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rosendo Goiz in the 66th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Roman Muench saved Maravilla from getting behind. The attack was good, but when Rosendo Goiz in the 68th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. When the match clock showed 69 minutes, the score became 5-1 when Rosendo Goiz sped through Maravilla's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Roman Muench. Erasmo Colas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luis Calisto hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. A collision led to Maravilla getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Arnulfo Jaunti hit a great ball. Rosendo Goiz struck a weak shot in the 81st minute. Roman Muench didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vélez Sarsfield. After having played for 88 minutes, Erasmo Colas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vélez Sarsfield's supporters crossed their fingers, but Erasmo Colas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Arnulfo Jaunti got free with Serafin Indartsu in the 92nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Serafin Indartsu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Arnulfo Jaunti in the 95th minute. There was no doubt that Vélez Sarsfield were the better team. Vélez Sarsfield's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
