Elias Montenegro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcelo Santio in the 7th minute of the match. After 8 played minutes Montecristo got a freekick which was hit by Jeremias Laffitte. If Melquiades Peruanton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 14th minute, Melquiades Peruanton managed to get in a good position for a shot. Club Atlético Calamar's supporters rose to their feet, but Melquiades Peruanton was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Elias Montenegro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Melquiades Peruanton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elias Montenegro having to interfere. In the 17th minute Marcelo Santio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elias Montenegro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Montecristo defense, Marcelo Santio kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Elias Montenegro. The Montecristo fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Elias Montenegro should have stopped the shot. Elias Montenegro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcelo Santio in the 22nd minute of the match. 24 minutes into the match, Club Atlético Calamar's Marcelo Santio sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Elias Montenegro narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Melquiades Peruanton struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Elias Montenegro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Club Atlético Calamar. German Lopez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Elias Montenegro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcelo Santio, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-4.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Pablo Matteo to make the kick off. Elias Montenegro made an important save on a dangerous shot by Marcelo Santio in the 53rd minute. Jesus Elorri kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. Elias Montenegro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hector Gonsalvo in the 56th minute of the match. Saverio Montxo charged in rather forcefully in the 60th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Saverio Montxo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Saverio Montxo hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. 61 minutes into the match, Club Atlético Calamar's goal looked a bit too open when Uriel Montez came free, but Ulises Hotz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Marcelo Santio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 67th minute, Marcelo Santio left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Club Atlético Calamar fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-5. In the 75th minute, Marcelo Santio made a precise shot to the right of Elias Montenegro. Montecristo's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-6. When the match had gone on for 78 minutes, Marcelo Santio put it in 0-7 from a short distance just to the right of Elias Montenegro. After 82 played minutes Montecristo got a freekick which was hit by Pablo Matteo. Melquiades Peruanton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elias Montenegro having to interfere. Club Atlético Calamar's Marcelo Santio got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Marcelo Santio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Elias Montenegro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. German Lopez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elias Montenegro having to interfere. After 90 played minutes Montecristo got a freekick which was hit by Pablo Matteo. Marcelo Santio in the 93rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Elias Montenegro, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. When the match had gone on for 94 minutes, Melquiades Peruanton took a quick shot and it went in 0-8 without a chance for Elias Montenegro to make any attempt to save it. Marcelo Santio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 97th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Club Atlético Calamar played a much better game than Montecristo and deserved their victory. The Montecristo players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
