After having played for 14 minutes, Wilfredo Sanduru managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. The Rockers's supporters crossed their fingers, but Wilfredo Sanduru was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Froilan Duarte took the ball and in the 16 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Prudencio Oxel. Prudencio Oxel dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. After 22 minutes, Cesar Lore mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the The Rockers and the Velez Capo players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Velez Capo booed when The Rockers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cesar Lore didn't get a good kick on the ball. Prudencio Oxel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Froilan Duarte, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Anibal Guzman could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 28th minute of the match, but Müjdat Cömert made a huge save. In the 30th minute the ball was on its way in behind The Rockers's goalkeeper Prudencio Oxel, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Anibal Guzman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 34 minutes of play, Velez Capo's Froilan Duarte made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Prudencio Oxel was left in no man's land by his defense there! Arnoldo Chuse charged in rather forcefully in the 37th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Arnoldo Chuse the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 43rd minute Froilan Duarte shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Prudencio Oxel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Gavino Arano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Froilan Duarte to make the kick off. When Wilfredo Sanduru came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the The Rockers fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wilfredo Sanduru couldn't finish the play. The Rockers's Prudencio Oxel proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 84th minute of the match, managed to save The Rockers from getting a goal against them. The audience thought a goal was coming when Froilan Duarte got free with Prudencio Oxel in the 87th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 92nd match minute, Velez Capo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hilario Petri to maneuver through the defense. When the match was over Velez Capo could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than The Rockers throughout the match.
