An unexpectedly hard shot by Gavino Platon in the 48th minute of play forced Los Pumas's goalkeeper Honorio Frans to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gavino Platon in the 48th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Honorio Frans saved Los Pumas from getting behind. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gavino Platon was the one to do the kick off. Honorio Frans made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Guillermo Haritz in the 52nd minute of play. Patricio Hermelando's late challenge caught a Los Pumas's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
