The crowd rose to their feet as Apolo Eliazar kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Alfredo Ferrando. That made the score 1-0 in the 24 minute of play. After 27 played minutes Soto got a freekick which was hit by Igor Calvino. In the 28th minute, Pirquitas's Apolo Eliazar ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Alfredo Ferrando. Alfredo Ferrando yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. If Haroldo Eduino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Justo Leheren took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gaudencio Ieltxu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Freddy Jon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alfredo Ferrando made a fantastic save in the 43rd minute, when Nicasio Cordeiro sent off a good shot on target. When Fulgencio Gonsalvo fell near the penalty area in the 44th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Soto's protests and gave Fulgencio Gonsalvo a yellow card for diving instead. After 44 played minutes Soto got a freekick which was hit by Fulgencio Gonsalvo. 47 minutes into the match, Soto's goalkeeper Alfredo Ferrando had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Marcial Nofre. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

53 minutes into the match, Soto's goal looked a bit too open when Apolo Eliazar came free, but Alfredo Ferrando reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 59 minutes, Silvio Cucao mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Pirquitas and the Soto players grew even worse after the yellow card. Aaron Goyo kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Pirquitas's zone, Haroldo Eduino stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Justo Leheren came out of the goal and Haroldo Eduino tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Alfredo Ferrando showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcial Nofre in the 66th minute of the match. Haroldo Eduino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Justo Leheren having to interfere. After 75 played minutes Soto got a freekick which was hit by Fulgencio Gonsalvo. When Marcial Nofre came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the Pirquitas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marcial Nofre couldn't finish the play. Alfredo Ferrando made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Apolo Eliazar in the 78th minute of play. In the 86th minute, German Chumo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 94 minutes into the match, Pirquitas's goal looked a bit too open when Freddy Jon came free, but Justo Leheren reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Pirquitas fans cheered their team off the field, for while Soto had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
