The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4th minute, Donzel Lorenzo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Amado Beltran was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. After 18 minutes, Leonel Pedroso mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the INDEPENDIENTE and the Jorge Newbery players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 18 played minutes INDEPENDIENTE got a freekick which was hit by Leonel Pedroso. In the 19th minute Donzel Lorenzo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amado Beltran saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 24 minutes into the game, Julio Mazuste cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Amado Beltran was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Guaberto Oto stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Benedicto Aznaro's shot from short distance in the 27th minute. In the 27th minute, Niceto Erauso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the INDEPENDIENTE defense, Donzel Lorenzo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Amado Beltran. The INDEPENDIENTE fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Amado Beltran should have stopped the shot. INDEPENDIENTE's Amado Beltran played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julio Mazuste in the 35th minute of play. In the 37th minute, Donzel Lorenzo made a precise shot to the right of Amado Beltran. INDEPENDIENTE's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-5. After 39 played minutes Jorge Newbery got a freekick which was hit by Dario Gambetta. After some careless play in the INDEPENDIENTE defense, Donzel Lorenzo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Amado Beltran. The INDEPENDIENTE fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Amado Beltran should have stopped the shot. Donzel Lorenzo scored 0-7 in the 47th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Amado Beltran, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The INDEPENDIENTE players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Jorge Newbery were winning 0-7.

In the 53rd match minute, Jorge Newbery was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gustavo Ramirez to maneuver through the defense. In the 59th minute, Niceto Erauso fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. When Donzel Lorenzo, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 59 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Amado Beltran was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Donzel Lorenzo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amado Beltran having to interfere. Jorge Newbery's Guaberto Oto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benedicto Aznaro in the 65th minute of play. Amado Beltran showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Donzel Lorenzo in the 73rd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julio Mazuste in the 75th minute of play forced INDEPENDIENTE's goalkeeper Amado Beltran to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 76 minutes, Benedicto Aznaro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. INDEPENDIENTE's supporters crossed their fingers, but Benedicto Aznaro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. INDEPENDIENTE's Amado Beltran proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 80th minute of the match, managed to save INDEPENDIENTE from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, INDEPENDIENTE's Manuel Napier got a free kick in the 81st minute. The supporters of INDEPENDIENTE booed when Jorge Newbery was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Niceto Erauso didn't get a good kick on the ball. Benedicto Aznaro hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. Amado Beltran showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Donzel Lorenzo in the 97th minute of the match. Jorge Newbery's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
