After having played for 4 minutes, Danilo Jago managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Azcurra FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Danilo Jago was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Amancio Uhin took the ball and in the 8 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Bruno Peli. Bruno Peli dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Amancio Uhin in the 14th minute of play forced Newells Old Boys's goalkeeper Bruno Peli to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Marcelino Playo came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the Azcurra FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marcelino Playo couldn't finish the play. Amancio Uhin struck a weak shot in the 27th minute. Bruno Peli didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Azcurra FC. Through an outstanding action, after 31 minutes, Anderson Antunes successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After a rather tough play, Azcurra FC's Marcelino Playo got a free kick in the 32nd minute. After 34 played minutes Azcurra FC got a freekick which was hit by Marcelino Playo. Bruno Peli showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Feliciano Caetano, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. Marcelino Playo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bruno Peli having to interfere.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Epifanio Sarracino was the one to do the kick off. After 53 played minutes Newells Old Boys got a freekick which was hit by Rafael Tercero. In the 55th minute, Feliciano Caetano left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Azcurra FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4. A collision led to Newells Old Boys getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Florentino Edur hit a great ball. With his leg Bruno Peli managed to avoid a goal in the 61stth minute, when Azcurra FC's Feliciano Caetano fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Feliciano Caetanos short, quick shot in the 63rdth minute got Bruno Peli to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Azcurra FC's Anderson Antunes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Denis Clis in the 67th minute of play. 马沙棋 recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Feliciano Caetano blasted a shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Bruno Peli having to make a save. In the 89th match minute, Newells Old Boys was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Salvador Tavio to maneuver through the defense. Feliciano Caetano who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 91stth minute tested the skills of Bruno Peli when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 93 minutes into the match, Azcurra FC's goal looked a bit too open when Dalmacio Rodriguez came free, but Anderson Antunes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Azcurra FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
