With 14 minutes on the clock, Serafin Loreto commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 13th minute, one of River Plate:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for River Plate. Raimundo Loyola recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience was convinced that Torsten Hydén's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Pedro Urtungo was relentless in the 19th minute of the game. In the 20th minute, Rafael Ixaka left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The River Plate fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. In the 24th minute Rafael Ixaka shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Goizeder saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 26th minute, Lisandro Cordarrel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rafael Ixaka hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. Pedro Goizeder came out of the goal and Ciriaco Gauargi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rafael Ixaka to make the kick off. Ciriaco Gauargi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Goizeder having to interfere. After 61 played minutes Inter De Milan-nesa got a freekick which was hit by Joel Eneko. In the 63rd match minute, Inter De Milan-nesa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Urbano Brion to maneuver through the defense. Pedro Urtungo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lisandro Cordarrel in the 67th minute of play. Inter De Milan-nesa's Raimundo Loyola got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 75th minute, Raimundo Loyola managed to get in a good position for a shot. Inter De Milan-nesa's supporters rose to their feet, but Raimundo Loyola was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pedro Urtungo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Pedro Urtungo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Raimundo Loyola's shot from short distance in the 76th minute. Raimundo Loyola recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to River Plate getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Ciriaco Gauargi hit a great ball. In the 86th match minute, Inter De Milan-nesa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Torsten Hydén to maneuver through the defense. 88 minutes into the match, Inter De Milan-nesa's goal looked a bit too open when Rafael Ixaka came free, but Pedro Goizeder reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Raimundo Loyola fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Urtungo having to interfere. River Plate succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Inter De Milan-nesa had controlled the match.
