Sportivo Castelar's Sverker Lekberg proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 5th minute of the match, managed to save Sportivo Castelar from getting a goal against them. With a little luck, Sportivo Castelar's Sverker Lekberg got control of the ball when Candido Gasteiz tried to sneak it across the goal line. Luisito Orlondo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rogelio Asier in the 17th minute of the match. 20 minutes into the match, Rogelio Asier notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Sumampa AFC's Luisito Orlondo. Luisito Orlondo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The supporters of Sumampa AFC booed when Sportivo Castelar was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcelino Tonete didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sverker Lekberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eusebio Miro in the 28th minute of play. Marcelino Tonete recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With his leg Sverker Lekberg managed to avoid a goal in the 38thth minute, when Sumampa AFC's Candido Gasteiz fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Marcelino Tonete fired away a difficult shot at goal in the 40th minute. He almost succeeded, but the ball went over. It was a very nice shot.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rogelio Asier made a kick off. The audience was convinced that Candido Gasteiz's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sverker Lekberg was relentless in the 52nd minute of the game. If Eusebio Miro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 57th minute, Marcelino Tonete hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Eusebio Miro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sverker Lekberg having to interfere. Felix Asklöv's late challenge caught a Sportivo Castelar's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Felix Asklöv helped the player get up and apologised. In the 64th match minute, Sumampa AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felix Asklöv to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Candido Gasteiz in the 68th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sverker Lekberg saved Sportivo Castelar from getting behind. After having played for 70 minutes, Candido Gasteiz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sumampa AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Candido Gasteiz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Eusebio Miro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 75thth minute of the game Candido Gasteiz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sportivo Castelar's Sverker Lekberg was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 87th minute Candido Gasteiz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sverker Lekberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Evelio Gasteiz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Candido Gasteiz in the 93rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sverker Lekberg saved Sportivo Castelar from getting behind. If Adrian Osorio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Sportivo Castelar walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
