Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Saverio Damario started the match with the kick off. After some careless play in the Massalin F.C. defense, Froilan Reno kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Narciso Inko. The Massalin F.C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Narciso Inko should have stopped the shot. 10 minutes into the game, Newells's Froilan Reno nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Narciso Inko made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Newells's Froilan Reno got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Narciso Inko came out of the goal in the 16th minute to try and stop a shot by Newells's Froilan Reno. But to his dismay, Froilan Reno quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. After a rather tough play, Newells's Arsenio Obeko got a free kick in the 20th minute. 28 minutes into the match, Eliseo Monico dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Arnulfo Kinsen, 1-3. Through an outstanding action, after 34 minutes, Arnulfo Kinsen successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Arsenio Obeko kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. Narciso Inko showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nicasio Paul in the 39th minute of the match. Nicasio Paul took the ball and in the 40 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Narciso Inko. Narciso Inko dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-4. Narciso Inko showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arsenio Obeko, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. Narciso Inko showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nicasio Paul in the 48th minute of the match.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Eliseo Monico to make the kick off. Nicasio Paul who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 51stth minute tested the skills of Narciso Inko when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The supporters of Newells booed when Massalin F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lucas Stephen didn't get a good kick on the ball. Massalin F.C.'s Narciso Inko proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to save Massalin F.C. from getting a goal against them. A collision led to Massalin F.C. getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Lucas Stephen hit a great ball. Prudencio Koldo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Arnulfo Kinsen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Astor Nofre in the 63rd minute of play. Massalin F.C.'s Narciso Inko proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 64th minute of the match, managed to save Massalin F.C. from getting a goal against them. Arnulfo Kinsen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eliseo Monico in the 67th minute of play. Arnulfo Kinsen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eliseo Monico in the 70th minute of the match. In the 73rd minute, one of Newells:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Newells. Arsenio Obeko recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Massalin F.C.'s attentive Maximino Cordarryl managed to snatch the ball when Fulgencio Mincho made a throw-in in the 84th minute of the game. In the 93rd minute, Newells's Arsenio Obeko dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-5. Narciso Inko made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arsenio Obeko in the 99th minute of play. The Newells supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Newells would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
