Nicanor Cebrian started the match with the kick off. In the 4th minute, Roberto Heli got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Roberto Heli recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 5th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Godofredo Benino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcial Luix in the 8th minute of the match. In the 10th minute, Club San Martin de Salta's Francisco Joey seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Francisco Joey the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Club San Martin de Salta protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Francisco Joey had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee gave Gnecco AFC a penalty, 12 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Santo Bastia, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Club San Martin de Salta's Godofredo Benino. 0-1. Aldo Pacorro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Andres Iraitz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Godofredo Benino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nicanor Cebrian in the 19th minute of play. Aldo Pacorro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Club San Martin de Salta fans' excitement grew in the 22nd match minute when Club San Martin de Salta's Andres Iraitz looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Christian Patxi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Andres Iraitz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Nicanor Cebrian managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gnecco AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Nicanor Cebrian was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Godofredo Benino breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Christian Patxi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Andres Iraitz in the 32nd minute of play. After 34 played minutes Gnecco AFC got a freekick which was hit by Nicanor Cebrian. Aldo Pacorro struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Christian Patxi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Club San Martin de Salta. An unexpectedly hard shot by Narciso Balesio in the 38th minute of play forced Gnecco AFC's goalkeeper Christian Patxi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Andres Iraitz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Christian Patxi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Andres Iraitz in the 43rd minute of play. If Armando Guillelmo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 46th minute, Andres Iraitz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Aldo Pacorro to strike the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marcial Luix got free with Godofredo Benino in the 59th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 65 minutes into the game, Club San Martin de Salta's Jose Ulizes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Christian Patxi made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. Aldo Pacorro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Christian Patxi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Andres Iraitz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. In the 82nd minute Aldo Pacorro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christian Patxi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Roberto Heli had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Blas Constancio hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. When the referee ended the match the Club San Martin de Salta players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
