Trpimir Kodro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Estudiantes De Berisso's Antonio Taules suffered a concussion in the 26th minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. In the 28th match minute, Argentina was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Modesto Jacindo to maneuver through the defense. In the 37th minute Bartolo Bihar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jesus Isias saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Val Dozier had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Bartolo Bihar made the kick off in the second half. Estudiantes De Berisso were awarded a corner in the 53th minute after Argentina's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Rosendo Naelio took the corner. In the 53rd match minute, Estudiantes De Berisso was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Val Dozier to maneuver through the defense. When Val Dozier got the opportunity to take care of a free kick it resulted in a really dangerous shot that almost went in the goal. Instead the ball went too high, a missed opportunity for Estudiantes De Berisso. Marcelino Koldobika hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. Jesus Isias showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bartolo Bihar, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. After a rather tough play, Argentina's Atanas Nedkov got a free kick in the 72nd minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bartolo Bihar in the 75th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jesus Isias saved Argentina from getting behind. In the 80th minute Bartolo Bihar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jesus Isias saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Estudiantes De Berisso were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
