With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cleto Tavio prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ladislao Norino in the 44th minute of play forced Morillo's goalkeeper Cleto Tavio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Everardo Blasco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Cleto Tavio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, Isidoro Chuse managed to get in a good position for a shot. Matambre FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Isidoro Chuse was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cleto Tavio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Isidoro Chuse could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 86th minute of the match, but Cleto Tavio made a huge save. The supporters of Matambre FC booed when Morillo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joaquin Salvino didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cleto Tavio made a fantastic save in the 89th minute, when Isidoro Chuse sent off a good shot on target. Clodoveo Eli took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Froilan Nel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Matambre FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
