Cayetano Matai who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 18thth minute tested the skills of Fulgencio Baudelio when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 21 minutes into the game, Cayetano Matai recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Fulgencio Baudelio. Cayetano Matai showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. After a defensive mix-up in Magdalena's zone, Honorato Herensuge stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fulgencio Baudelio came out of the goal and Honorato Herensuge tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Robustiano Cordario took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Timoteo Eusko, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match had been going on for 62 minutes, Magdalena's Timoteo Eusko got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. Tobar's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Juan Gómez was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-5. The Magdalena supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Magdalena would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
