The supporters of RIVER PLATE booed when Jose Kentenich was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arnoldo Playo didn't get a good kick on the ball. 16 minutes into the game, Silvestre Rivas cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. After some careless play in the Jose Kentenich defense, Silvestre Rivas kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Amadeo Nabar. The Jose Kentenich fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Amadeo Nabar should have stopped the shot. 31 minutes into the game, Fabricio Mannie was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Jose Kentenich's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave RIVER PLATE the free kick. Fabricio Mannie hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. Cosme Fresco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amadeo Nabar having to interfere. 40 minutes into the game, Silvestre Rivas cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-5. Amadeo Nabar was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Silvestre Rivas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A very good chance for a goal. Cosme Fresco could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 57th minute of the match, but Amadeo Nabar made a huge save. After a rather tough play, RIVER PLATE's Osvaldo Berdoi got a free kick in the 61st minute. Amadeo Nabar came out of the goal in the 64th minute to try and stop a shot by RIVER PLATE's Silvestre Rivas. But to his dismay, Silvestre Rivas quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-6. With his leg Amadeo Nabar managed to avoid a goal in the 72ndth minute, when RIVER PLATE's Cosme Fresco fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 80th minute, Cosme Fresco made a precise shot to the right of Amadeo Nabar. Jose Kentenich's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-8. Amadeo Nabar made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cosme Fresco in the 84th minute. Osvaldo Berdoi's late challenge caught a Jose Kentenich's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Osvaldo Berdoi helped the player get up and apologised. In the 87th match minute, RIVER PLATE was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Osvaldo Berdoi to maneuver through the defense. When Silvio Charro came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the RIVER PLATE fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Silvio Charro couldn't finish the play. If Silvestre Rivas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpected shot in the 94th minute by Cosme Fresco got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Silvestre Rivas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. RIVER PLATE's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
