The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Osvaldo Ourente recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 5th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Cañada's Roman Fidensio got a free kick in the 8th minute. If Osvaldo Ourente had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cañada's Eustacio Karmel proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save Cañada from getting a goal against them. Mesut Kutlughan received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Eustacio Karmel came out and tried to block the shot, but Mesut Kutlughan slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 17th minute. Baldomero Ruisko showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alberto Lain, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Generoso Nisio in the 26th minute of play forced Barrilete Cosmico's goalkeeper Baldomero Ruisko to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 27 minutes into the game, Bernabe Luzaide cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Baldomero Ruisko was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 32nd minute, Alberto Lain ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Baldomero Ruisko was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. In the 38th minute Osvaldo Ourente shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eustacio Karmel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Alberto Lain fell near the penalty area in the 40th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cañada's protests and gave Alberto Lain a yellow card for diving instead. Osvaldo Ourente sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Alberto Lain to strike the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the game, Ermegildo Eguen recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Baldomero Ruisko. Ermegildo Eguen showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-3. The supporters of Cañada booed when Barrilete Cosmico was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Albano Markel didn't get a good kick on the ball. Eustacio Karmel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Osvaldo Ourente in the 61st minute of the match. Alberto Lain fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Baldomero Ruisko having to interfere. Baldomero Ruisko made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bernabe Luzaide in the 74th minute of play. Eustacio Karmel came out of the goal in the 79th minute to try and stop a shot by Barrilete Cosmico's Osvaldo Ourente. But to his dismay, Osvaldo Ourente quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-3. A collision led to Cañada getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Leon Urbez hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Cañada's zone, Fernando Jaunzuria stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eustacio Karmel came out of the goal and Fernando Jaunzuria tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Cañada booed when Barrilete Cosmico was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Faustino Baraquiel didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cañada's Augusto Virila took a good shot, in the 97th minute, which hit the crossbar above Baldomero Ruisko's head, and flew over the goal. Barrilete Cosmico's manager was very thankful on the sidelines as his team had managed to keep the ball out of the net after some serious pressure by Cañada. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Cañada eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
