After a defensive mix-up in Metán's zone, Alonzo Cordarrel stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ulises Saturnin came out of the goal and Alonzo Cordarrel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 10 minutes into the match, Eloy Emeterio had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ladislao Playo. Cruces y Flores's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Eloy Emeterio was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. The supporters of Cruces y Flores booed when Metán was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Segundo Tulio didn't get a good kick on the ball. 15 minutes into the match, Metán's goalkeeper Ulises Saturnin had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alonzo Cordarrel. Cruces y Flores's Ladislao Playo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Segundo Tulio in the 17th minute of play. The supporters of Metán booed when Cruces y Flores was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Esteban Abeijon didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 19 played minutes, Metán's Benito Firman shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ladislao Playo came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Metán reached it. After a rather tough play, Cruces y Flores's Luis Ospin got a free kick in the 20th minute. Ladislao Playo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benedicto Ongile in the 22nd minute of play. If Benedicto Ongile had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 36 minutes into the game, Segundo Tulio cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-5. Ladislao Playo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 39th minute, Benito Firman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ulises Saturnin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cipriano Paio, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-5.

Ladislao Playo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benedicto Ongile in the 52nd minute of play. In the 53rd minute, Cruces y Flores's Luis Ospin seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Luis Ospin the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Cruces y Flores protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Luis Ospin had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After 54 played minutes Cruces y Flores got a freekick which was hit by Luis Ospin. An unexpectedly hard shot by Benito Firman in the 55th minute of play forced Cruces y Flores's goalkeeper Ladislao Playo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Cipriano Paio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 64 minutes into the game, Benedicto Ongile was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Metán's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cruces y Flores the free kick. After a rather tough play, Metán's Benedicto Ongile got a free kick in the 65th minute. Segundo Tulio could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 70th minute of the match, but Ladislao Playo made a huge save. Ladislao Playo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Segundo Tulio went, in the 73rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-7 was the resulting score. Metán made a substitution. Severino Beltza replaced Segundo Tulio. After 82 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Cruces y Flores! The crowd rose to their feet as Metán's Severino Beltza slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Ladislao Playo. That made the score 0-9 after 90 minutes of play. After 94 minutes of play Metán's Benedicto Ongile was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. A collision led to Metán getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Benedicto Ongile hit a great ball. Ladislao Playo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Severino Beltza, who was totally free with the ball in the 98th minute. Metán played a much better game than Cruces y Flores and deserved their victory. The Cruces y Flores players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
