An unexpectedly hard shot by Anastasio Feliu in the 4th minute of play forced Meru Meru's goalkeeper Bernabe Ariando to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Eulalio Quexal fell near the penalty area in the 7th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Muten's protests and gave Eulalio Quexal a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Muten's Eulalio Quexal got a free kick in the 7th minute. Anastasio Feliu hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. In the 14th minute the ball was on its way in behind Muten's goalkeeper Vinicio Baumar, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Meru Meru's Nereo Caitano in the 15th minute got a chance for a shot 15th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Muten's goalie prevented a goal. Gerardo Rafel charged in rather forcefully in the 30th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gerardo Rafel the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Muten booed when Meru Meru was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Federico Faron didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee felt a red card was in order, 43 minutes into the game, when Damian Oroitz put in a rough tackle. 43 minutes into the game, one of Muten:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Mateo Galeno was the one to do the kick off. After a rather tough play, Meru Meru's Candido Tallia got a free kick in the 54th minute. After 64 minutes, Lucio Theobald mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Muten and the Meru Meru players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Muten getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Lucio Theobald hit a great ball. Vinicio Baumar made a fantastic save in the 67th minute, when Mateo Galeno sent off a good shot on target. 69 minutes into the match, Mateo Galeno had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Vinicio Baumar. Muten's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mateo Galeno was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Mateo Galeno struck a weak shot in the 72nd minute. Vinicio Baumar didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Meru Meru. After 74 minutes, Matias Ralondo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Muten and the Meru Meru players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Muten getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Matias Ralondo hit a great ball. After 76 played minutes Feliciano Gartzi rounded Muten's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 0-3. If Mateo Galeno had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 83 minutes of play, Meru Meru's Mateo Galeno made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Vinicio Baumar was left in no man's land by his defense there! When Matias Ralondo came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Muten fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Matias Ralondo couldn't finish the play. Matias Ralondo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bernabe Ariando having to interfere. The Meru Meru supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Meru Meru would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
