Bartolo Vargas received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Angelino Corderun came out and tried to block the shot, but Bartolo Vargas slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 6th minute. Abel Lluciano took the ball and in the 10 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Narciso Emenon. Narciso Emenon dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. After some careless play in the Mariano FC defense, Anibal Urki kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Narciso Emenon. The Mariano FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Narciso Emenon should have stopped the shot. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Candido Guifre during the 28th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Independencia booed when Mariano FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Candido Guifre didn't get a good kick on the ball. Anibal Urki sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 37 minutes, Anibal Urki managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Independencia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Anibal Urki was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Abel Lluciano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Narciso Emenon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Anibal Urki's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Narciso Emenon was relentless in the 41st minute of the game. Narciso Emenon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anibal Urki in the 44th minute of the match. After the first half Independencia were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Anibal Urki made the kick off in the second half. Abel Llucianos short, quick shot in the 51stth minute got Narciso Emenon to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Abel Lluciano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Narciso Emenon having to interfere. If Anibal Urki had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anibal Urki in the 58th minute of play forced Mariano FC's goalkeeper Narciso Emenon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Mariano FC's Guaberto Jaen got a free kick in the 60th minute. Anibal Urki struck a weak shot in the 61st minute. Narciso Emenon didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Independencia. Abel Lluciano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Narciso Emenon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Candido Guifre was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 64 minutes had been played. Candido Guifre didn't get a good kick on the ball. 67 minutes into the match, Mariano FC's goalkeeper Narciso Emenon had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Abel Lluciano. After some fancy dribbling in the 76th minute, Bartolo Vargas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mariano FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Bartolo Vargas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Angelino Corderun breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 78th minute, Bartolo Vargas ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Angelino Corderun was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-3. Independencia's Angelino Corderun played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bartolo Vargas in the 85th minute of play. Anibal Urki scored 2-4 in the 87th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Narciso Emenon, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 91 played minutes Mariano FC got a freekick which was hit by Guaberto Jaen. Fidel Aznaro's late challenge caught a Independencia's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fidel Aznaro helped the player get up and apologised. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 92nd minute of the game. One of Mariano FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Independencia:s goal. When the match had been going on for 94 minutes, Independencia's Abel Lluciano got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Narciso Emenon. If Anibal Urki had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Independencia's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
