Igor Jurgi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anibal Umbruso, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. In the 11th minute the ball was on its way in behind dasani's goalkeeper Simon Formerio, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Simon Formerio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Amado Chesus, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Simon Formerio came out of the goal in the 15th minute to try and stop a shot by NEWELLS OLD BOYS C.A.'s Cipriano Castro. But to his dismay, Cipriano Castro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. dasani's Simon Formerio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Amado Chesus in the 19th minute of play. 1-2 became the score in the 22nd minute when Anibal Umbruso elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. When Hilario Firmo came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the dasani fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hilario Firmo couldn't finish the play. Simon Formerio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Amado Chesus in the 28th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 29 minutes, Anibal Umbruso took a quick shot and it went in 2-2 without a chance for Igor Jurgi to make any attempt to save it. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Amado Chesus managed to get in a good position for a shot. NEWELLS OLD BOYS C.A.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Amado Chesus was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Simon Formerio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 35 minutes, Cipriano Castro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. NEWELLS OLD BOYS C.A.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Cipriano Castro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Simon Formerio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Amado Chesus in the 37th minute of the match. Benjamin Ibañez recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Amado Chesus fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Simon Formerio having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Amado Chesus in the 43rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Simon Formerio saved dasani from getting behind. Reynaldo Gonchan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Amado Chesus came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the NEWELLS OLD BOYS C.A. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Amado Chesus couldn't finish the play. The score stood at 2-2 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Amado Chesus was the one to do the kick off. Amado Chesus fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Simon Formerio having to interfere. Simon Formerio acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 60th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Vladimiro Aznar. Simon Formerio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Amado Chesus in the 68th minute of play. Amado Chesus recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in dasani's zone, Amado Chesus stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Simon Formerio came out of the goal and Amado Chesus tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Benjamin Ibañez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Simon Formerio having to interfere. In the 83rd minute, Amado Chesus got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, Reynaldo Gonchan managed to get in a good position for a shot. NEWELLS OLD BOYS C.A.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Reynaldo Gonchan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Simon Formerio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
