The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Edgard Liberto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. Lomas United's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. In the 15th match minute, Laferrere FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nemesio Silban to maneuver through the defense. In the 17thth minute of the game Nemesio Silban who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Lomas United's Ariel Romero was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Eriberto Hondo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ariel Romero made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Victorino Marin in the 20th minute of play. When Nemesio Silban came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the Laferrere FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nemesio Silban couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Lomas United's zone, Nemesio Silban stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ariel Romero came out of the goal and Nemesio Silban tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some careless play in the Lomas United defense, Nemesio Silban kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ariel Romero. The Lomas United fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ariel Romero should have stopped the shot. Edgard Liberto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Eriberto Hondo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Ariel Romero tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Laferrere FC's zone, Alejandro Lauren stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Silvestre Salvidor came out of the goal and Alejandro Lauren tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Eusebio Rosio made the kick off in the second half. Eriberto Hondo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. After 63 played minutes, Lomas United's Melchor Txartiko shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Silvestre Salvidor came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Lomas United reached it. Eriberto Hondo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. The supporters of Lomas United booed when Laferrere FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eriberto Hondo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 97th minute of the match, Edgard Liberto tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Ariel Romero saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 98 minutes into the match, Lomas United's goal looked a bit too open when Eriberto Hondo came free, but Ariel Romero reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Laferrere FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
