Abel Mikeldi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eloy Cebrian, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. In the 13th minute Eloy Cebrian shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Abel Mikeldi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 17 played minutes Hoyón AFC got a freekick which was hit by Eloy Cebrian. When Albano Artaldo came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Millonarios de Nuñez fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Albano Artaldo couldn't finish the play. After 31 minutes, Gregorio Martino mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Millonarios de Nuñez and the Hoyón AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Millonarios de Nuñez getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Gregorio Martino hit a great ball. Millonarios de Nuñez's Abel Mikeldi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jesus Sol in the 34th minute of play. Jesus Sol fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abel Mikeldi having to interfere. Abel Mikeldi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eloy Cebrian, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jesus Sol in the 45th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Abel Mikeldi prevented the ball from getting in the gole.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Eloy Cebrian stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Leonel Odon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Jesus Sol came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Hoyón AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jesus Sol couldn't finish the play. Hoyón AFC's Eloy Cebrian got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Israel Salomon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 58 minutes into the game, Gregorio Abella was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Hoyón AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Millonarios de Nuñez the free kick. A collision led to Hoyón AFC getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Gregorio Abella hit a great ball. Abel Mikeldi made a fantastic save in the 68th minute, when Jesus Sol sent off a good shot on target. Millonarios de Nuñez's supporters rose to their feet, but Albano Artaldo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Israel Salomon in the 87th minute of play forced Hoyón AFC's goalkeeper Luciano Abad to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 94 minutes of play, Hoyón AFC's Jesus Sol made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Abel Mikeldi was left in no man's land by his defense there! Hoyón AFC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
