In the 43rd minute, Patagones's Ovidio Martxel ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Santo Menendo. Santo Menendo yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-2. After 46 minutes, Benicio Eudoxio mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Patagones and the Club Mar de Arenas players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Club Mar de Arenas booed when Patagones was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Benicio Eudoxio didn't get a good kick on the ball. After the first half Club Mar de Arenas were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ovidio Martxel was the one to do the kick off. Jesus Gartzen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abel Urki having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Club Mar de Arenas's zone, Ovidio Martxel stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Santo Menendo came out of the goal and Ovidio Martxel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 62 minutes into the match, Patagones's goalkeeper Abel Urki had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Augusto Guerau. Augusto Guerau who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 63rdth minute tested the skills of Abel Urki when he managed to save the team from getting behind.
