With an extended leg and a bit of luck Juan Donzel prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A collision led to Ensenada getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Bonifacio Pirro hit a great ball. Siro Etxepare's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 40thth minute, Adrian Giraldo skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. If Cirilo Sotil had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Lino Kepa was the one to do the kick off. After 52 minutes of play, Ensenada 's Siro Etxepare made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. The Atlético de Rafaela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Adrian Giraldo should have stopped the shot. If Siro Etxepare had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Ensenada 's Siro Etxepare in the 92nd minute got a chance for a shot 92nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Atlético de Rafaela's goalie prevented a goal. Ensenada 's Lino Kepa got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the referee ended the match the Ensenada players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
