Buena Vista Social Club's supporters crossed their fingers, but Raul Oalo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 14th minute, Cantoná Futbol Club's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Marcelino Bartuelo fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Cantoná Futbol Club's Mauro Silvanito proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save Cantoná Futbol Club from getting a goal against them. A collision led to Cantoná Futbol Club getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Arnaldo Egun hit a great ball. In the 84th minute, Raul Oalo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Buena Vista Social Club fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-0. If Raul Oalo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Niceto Romelio came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the Cantoná Futbol Club fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Niceto Romelio couldn't finish the play. Buena Vista Social Club's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
