Leonides Lobo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 10th minute of the match, but Reynaldo Semeno made a huge save. Reynaldo Semeno didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 11th minute, which inside left pole to 1-0. If Carl Linford had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Dragones's Arnulfo Sayvion got a free kick in the 16th minute. A collision led to Dragones getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Fabian Endura hit a great ball. When Sebastian Ayala fell near the penalty area in the 19th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Dragones's protests and gave Sebastian Ayala a yellow card for diving instead. Reynaldo Semeno went to the wrong direction when Damian Nayely was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. In the 22nd minute, Dragones's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Dante Atarrabi fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Leonides Lobo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Reynaldo Semeno tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rolando Deunoro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Leandro Gil read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 30th minute of play. A very good chance. With a little luck, Dragones's Reynaldo Semeno got control of the ball when Dante Atarrabi tried to sneak it across the goal line. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

In the 87th minute, Paolo Ado fired a really elegant long shot, but Leandro Gil threw himself and managed to get hold of the ball just in front of the right post. Eloy Vitins short, quick shot in the 90thth minute got Leandro Gil to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in.
