If Steffen Schewe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Steffen Schewe's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Romulo Pitin read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 20th minute of play. 30 minutes into the game, Cosme Gaitano was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Independiente's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave San Telmo the free kick. Steffen Schewe scored 0-2 in the 34th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Romulo Pitin, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 39th minute, Rolando Ganix got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Romulo Pitin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Steffen Schewe, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Romulo Pitin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rolando Ganix in the 42nd minute of the match. If Ivan Eneas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

In the 53rd minute of the match Edelmiro Gonzales sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Romulo Pitin skillfully saved the ball. Steffen Schewe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Rolando Ganix had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 69th minute, San Telmo's Steffen Schewe dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-3. Steffen Schewe's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 84thth minute, Romulo Pitin skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After 86 played minutes Independiente got a freekick which was hit by Ariel Jurdan. Steffen Schewe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 90th minute, Manuel Llorian hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Victor Machado hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. If Steffen Schewe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. San Telmo's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
