Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Narciso Primo in the 9th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Filiberto Garin prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Filiberto Garin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fausto Gotzon in the 10th minute of play. Rogelio Cresitobalo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Silverio Licerio, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. Jacobo Pelayo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Filiberto Garin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Filiberto Garin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fausto Gotzon in the 43rd minute of the match. 45 minutes into the match, Vergara FC's goal looked a bit too open when Narciso Primo came free, but Filiberto Garin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Silverio Licerio hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Aurelio Eleazar stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute Silverio Licerio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rogelio Cresitobalo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Silverio Licerio hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. C. A. Independiente's attentive Jacobo Pelayo managed to snatch the ball when Rolando Oriche made a throw-in in the 59th minute of the game. After having played for 65 minutes, Edgard Gilabert managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. C. A. Independiente's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edgard Gilabert was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 67 played minutes Vergara FC got a freekick which was hit by Cristobal Omero. When Silverio Licerio came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the Vergara FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Silverio Licerio couldn't finish the play. In the 90th minute Cristobal Omero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rogelio Cresitobalo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristobal Omero in the 92nd minute of play forced C. A. Independiente's goalkeeper Rogelio Cresitobalo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the final whistle sounded C. A. Independiente left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Vergara FC.
