After 5 minutes, Andres Criston mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Monteagudo AFC and the Ayajaso FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 5 played minutes Monteagudo AFC got a freekick which was hit by Andres Criston. After having played for 10 minutes, Edelmiro Urre managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ayajaso FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edelmiro Urre was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Monteagudo AFC booed when Ayajaso FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roman Remir didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Edelmiro Urre had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With his leg Alejandro Arroyo managed to avoid a goal in the 17thth minute, when Monteagudo AFC's Nicanor Abilio fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The supporters of Monteagudo AFC booed when Ayajaso FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roman Remir didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nicanor Abilio could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Alejandro Arroyo made a huge save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nicanor Abilio got free with Alejandro Arroyo in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ayajaso FC's Leo Frances got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Nicanor Abilio took the ball and in the 60 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Alejandro Arroyo. Alejandro Arroyo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. In the 65th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ayajaso FC's goalkeeper Alejandro Arroyo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Nicanor Abilio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nicanor Abilio in the 75th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alejandro Arroyo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Artemio Natanael's late challenge caught a Ayajaso FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Artemio Natanael helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Ayajaso FC booed when Monteagudo AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Artemio Natanael didn't get a good kick on the ball. Monteagudo AFC's Alonzo Pirmin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edelmiro Urre in the 77th minute of play. Nicanor Abilio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Alejandro Arroyo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nicanor Abilio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Nicanor Abilio's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alejandro Arroyo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 87th minute of play. Edelmiro Urre struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Alonzo Pirmin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ayajaso FC. Nicanor Abilio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Monteagudo AFC were victorious despite being under pressure from Ayajaso FC for much of the match.
