Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dionisio Quin in the 10th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Daniel Gaizkine prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Diego Fortun scored 0-1 in the 12th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Franco Diaz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 15th minute, Carolo Pierres hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. La Banda FC's Daniel Gaizkine proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 17th minute of the match, managed to save La Banda FC from getting a goal against them. Daniel Gaizkine took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dionisio Quin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 22 minutes, Diego Fortun managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. La Banda FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Diego Fortun was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 24th minute the ball was on its way in behind La Banda FC's goalkeeper Daniel Gaizkine, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. C. A. River Plate's Franco Diaz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Samuel Abilio in the 29th minute of play. If Andres Gonzales had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of C. A. River Plate booed when La Banda FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carolo Pierres didn't get a good kick on the ball. Diego Fortun might have been able to make a better finish in the 39th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Franco Diaz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Diego Fortun ran back to his position shaking his head. Andres Gonzales took the ball and in the 42 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Daniel Gaizkine. Daniel Gaizkine dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. After a rather tough play, La Banda FC's Ernesto Arano got a free kick in the 47th minute. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Samuel Abilio made a kick off. 56 minutes into the match, C. A. River Plate's goalkeeper Franco Diaz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nicolas Dominguez. In the 59th play minute Samuel Abilio came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Franco Diaz. 1-2. Diego Fortun received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Franco Diaz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match clock showed 66 minutes, the score became 2-2 when Andres Gonzales sped through La Banda FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Daniel Gaizkine. When Carolo Pierres came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the La Banda FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Carolo Pierres couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in C. A. River Plate's zone, Samuel Abilio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Franco Diaz came out of the goal and Samuel Abilio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Samuel Abilio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Franco Diaz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Carmelo Ranolfo fell near the penalty area in the 84th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored La Banda FC's protests and gave Carmelo Ranolfo a yellow card for diving instead. Carmelo Ranolfo kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. Franco Diaz made a fantastic save in the 88th minute, when Nicolas Dominguez sent off a good shot on target. When the match had gone on for 89 minutes, Carolo Pierres took a quick shot and it went in 2-3 without a chance for Franco Diaz to make any attempt to save it. After having played for 95 minutes, Carolo Pierres managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. La Banda FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Carolo Pierres was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The La Banda FC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
