Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Lázaro Dunixi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mariano Eudoxio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mariano Eudoxio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, INDEPENDIENTE MardelPlata's Santo Donostia got control of the ball when Freddy Fernandez tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Alonzo Jurdan fell near the penalty area in the 20th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Havant & Waterlooville's protests and gave Alonzo Jurdan a yellow card for diving instead. After 20 played minutes Havant & Waterlooville got a freekick which was hit by Alonzo Jurdan. In the 23rd minute, Maximino Bide left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Havant & Waterlooville fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. In the 27th minute Domingos Bikendi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lázaro Dunixi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lázaro Dunixi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mariano Eudoxio, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Lázaro Dunixi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mariano Eudoxio in the 35th minute of play. Santo Donostia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Freddy Fernandez in the 37th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rodrigo Montae got free with Santo Donostia in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. INDEPENDIENTE MardelPlata's Santo Donostia proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 39th minute of the match, managed to save INDEPENDIENTE MardelPlata from getting a goal against them. In the 44th match minute, Havant & Waterlooville was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dario Baudelio to maneuver through the defense. In the 46th minute Mariano Eudoxio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lázaro Dunixi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

In the 55th minute of the match Patricio Sendoa shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Santo Donostia showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Freddy Fernandez managed to get in a good position for a shot. Havant & Waterlooville's supporters rose to their feet, but Freddy Fernandez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Santo Donostia breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 63 minutes into the match, Rodrigo Montae had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Santo Donostia. INDEPENDIENTE MardelPlata's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rodrigo Montae was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Santo Donostia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alonzo Jurdan, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Freddy Fernandez in the 80th minute of play forced INDEPENDIENTE MardelPlata's goalkeeper Santo Donostia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Havant & Waterlooville booed when INDEPENDIENTE MardelPlata was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Saverio Naldo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Angelo Quinton kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. Freddy Fernandez took the ball and in the 89 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Santo Donostia. Santo Donostia dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Havant & Waterlooville had won after a very even match.
