When Arnulfo Soter came up free with the goalie in the 14th minute, the Monasterio FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Arnulfo Soter couldn't finish the play. Candido Montrel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julio Grabiel, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. The Deportivo ELEFANTE BLANCO fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Leandro Unai should have stopped the shot. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Orlando Baladi to make the kick off. Leandro Unai made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Orlando Baladi in the 53rd minute of play. 54 minutes into the match, Deportivo ELEFANTE BLANCO's goalkeeper Leandro Unai had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Arnulfo Soter. The long shot by Ubaldo Pacorro in the 59th minute really tested Leandro Unai's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. The supporters of Monasterio FC booed when Deportivo ELEFANTE BLANCO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rene Admon didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 60th minute, Deportivo ELEFANTE BLANCO's Aldo Salvadore seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Aldo Salvadore the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Deportivo ELEFANTE BLANCO protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Aldo Salvadore had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In a very dangerous position, a player in Deportivo ELEFANTE BLANCO fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 60th minute. Penalty! Monasterio FC's Arnulfo Soter got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Juan Foro hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. 86 minutes into the match, Orlando Baladi dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Leandro Unai, 1-3. Ubaldo Pacorro hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Monasterio FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
