The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A collision led to Goya AFC getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. When Eduardo Estebe fell near the penalty area in the 10th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Boca Juniors's protests and gave Eduardo Estebe a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Boca Juniors's Eduardo Estebe got a free kick in the 11th minute. A collision led to Goya AFC getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Primitivo Quexal hit a great ball. Eduardo Estebe's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 18thth minute, Wilfredo Dacio skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Goya AFC's Wilfredo Dacio proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 19th minute of the match, managed to save Goya AFC from getting a goal against them. Segundo Bembe struck a weak shot in the 23rd minute. Wilfredo Dacio didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Boca Juniors. After some fancy dribbling in the 24th minute, Eduardo Estebe managed to get in a good position for a shot. Boca Juniors's supporters rose to their feet, but Eduardo Estebe was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Wilfredo Dacio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 27thth minute of the game Eduardo Estebe who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Goya AFC's Wilfredo Dacio was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Primitivo Quexal fell near the penalty area in the 27th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. In the 28th match minute, Goya AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Primitivo Quexal to maneuver through the defense. After 30 minutes of play, Goya AFC's Artemio Bermund made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gabriel Raebert was left in no man's land by his defense there! Segundo Bembe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a defensive mix-up in Goya AFC's zone, Segundo Bembe stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Wilfredo Dacio came out of the goal and Segundo Bembe tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Artemio Bermund hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. A hard shot 47 in the game by Eduardo Estebe from a close distance when the talented Wilfredo Dacio managed to make a qualified save. Goya AFC's players were relieved. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Eduardo Estebe to make the kick off. Wilfredo Dacio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edgardo Furtado in the 52nd minute of play. Eduardo Estebe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With an all-out effort, Goya AFC's Gabriel Raebert threw himself towards the right post 65 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Melchor Sarracino, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Wilfredo Dacio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eduardo Estebe in the 70th minute of play. In the 77th minute of the match, Artemio Bermund got a very nice opportunity to score, but Gabriel Raebert was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The supporters of Goya AFC booed when Boca Juniors was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Americo Argoitz didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 84th minute the ball was on its way in behind Goya AFC's goalkeeper Wilfredo Dacio, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With a little luck, Boca Juniors's Gabriel Raebert got control of the ball when Artemio Bermund tried to sneak it across the goal line. Goya AFC's Artemio Bermund got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Boca Juniors were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
