Ricardo Patxi came out of the goal in the 28th minute to try and stop a shot by Cañuelas's Albino Theobald. An unexpectedly hard shot by Albino Theobald in the 35th minute of play forced Cafesito's goalkeeper Ricardo Patxi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 36 minutes into the game, Hernan Oxel was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cafesito's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cañuelas the free kick. After 36 played minutes Cafesito got a freekick which was hit by Hernan Oxel.
