After a rather tough play, Rufino's Godofredo Frutos got a free kick in the 29th minute. Emiliano Pere received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Edelmiro Estevez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Melchor Toro got free with Edelmiro Estevez in the 45th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Rufino getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Bonifacio Bento hit a great ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Edelmiro Estevez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fulgencio Guillelmus in the 51st minute of the match. 53 minutes into the match, Portezuelo's goalkeeper Baldomero Gonchan had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Juan Gutierrez. Fulgencio Guillelmus fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edelmiro Estevez having to interfere.
