Martin Roano was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 19 minutes into the match, La Fragata's Mariano Buinton sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Amado Frederico narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Martin Roano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aristides Vito in the 24th minute of the match. 25 minutes into the game, Ortzi Baca recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Amado Frederico. Ortzi Baca showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. Amado Frederico showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mariano Buinton in the 28th minute of the match. Mariano Buinton struck a weak shot in the 33rd minute. Amado Frederico didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for La Fragata. After a defensive mix-up in Club Sportivo Villa Cubas's zone, Mariano Buinton stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Amado Frederico came out of the goal and Mariano Buinton tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ortzi Baca got free with Amado Frederico in the 39th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Maximo Hori sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Club Sportivo Villa Cubas's zone, Ortzi Baca stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Amado Frederico came out of the goal and Ortzi Baca tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Ortzi Baca managed to get in a good position for a shot. La Fragata's supporters rose to their feet, but Ortzi Baca was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Amado Frederico breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Mariano Buinton was the one to do the kick off. Olaf Zerde kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. Martin Roano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anier Inocente, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Maximo Hori received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Amado Frederico tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 66 minutes into the match, Amancio Eyague dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Martin Roano, 1-2. The crowd rose to their feet as Anier Inocente kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Martin Roano. That made the score 1-3 in the 70 minute of play. La Fragata's Donovan Quinn quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Baltasar Checa, made in the 73rd minute of the game. Club Sportivo Villa Cubas's Amado Frederico played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mariano Buinton in the 77th minute of play. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mariano Buinton couldn't finish the play. The supporters of La Fragata booed when Club Sportivo Villa Cubas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aristides Vito didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mariano Buinton struck a weak shot in the 85th minute. Amado Frederico didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for La Fragata. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ortzi Baca in the 87th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Amado Frederico prevented the ball from getting in the gole. La Fragata's Ortzi Baca got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 93rd match minute, Club Sportivo Villa Cubas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aristides Vito to maneuver through the defense. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see La Fragata lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
