Leones's goal looked a bit too open when Elpidio Abancens came free, but Bülent Gerdaneri reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 53 minutes into the game, Elpidio Abancens cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Silverio Modestio hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. The C.A Boca Juniors manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Atl. Leones to win.
