After a rather tough play, Arauca's Luisito Cordarrell got a free kick in the 42nd minute. Barraquero FC's Teodoro Ler played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Maximo Truylos in the 45th minute of play. Braulio Gaur hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-6 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When Nicanor Gurutz fell near the penalty area in the 56th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Barraquero FC's protests and gave Nicanor Gurutz a yellow card for diving instead. Tomas Maxin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Naycho Zlatarev kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. In the 82nd minute of the game Santos Ubelteso made a throw-in which Rigoberto Gurutz played forward. With a little luck, Barraquero FC's Teodoro Ler got control of the ball when Jacek Zagrobelny tried to sneak it across the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Maximo Truylos in the 92nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Teodoro Ler prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of Arauca booed when Barraquero FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Baltasar Hernandez didn't get a good kick on the ball. Arauca's Luisito Cordarrell quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Santos Ubelteso, made in the 95th minute of the game. Maximo Truylos struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Teodoro Ler didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Arauca.
