The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 13 minutes into the match, Megodiano's goal looked a bit too open when Fausto Sasoin came free, but Armando Maldonado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alejandro Fortun made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edgard Lucila in the 15th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Megodiano's zone, Fausto Sasoin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Armando Maldonado came out of the goal and Fausto Sasoin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Utracán's Justino Lorien got a free kick in the 29th minute. Alejandro Fortun showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edgard Lucila, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Anier Tristan in the 36th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Armando Maldonado prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 40 played minutes Utracán got a freekick which was hit by Manuel Abramov. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Edgard Lucila in the 42nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Alejandro Fortun saved Utracán from getting behind. After 44 minutes of play, Utracán's Anier Tristan made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Armando Maldonado was left in no man's land by his defense there! After the first half Utracán were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Anier Tristan made a kick off. A collision led to Megodiano getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Filiberto Furtado hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that Anier Tristan's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Armando Maldonado was relentless in the 56th minute of the game. Armando Maldonado took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anier Tristan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Anier Tristan in the 59th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Armando Maldonado saved Megodiano from getting behind. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Armando Maldonado, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Fausto Sasoin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Utracán's supporters rose to their feet, but Fausto Sasoin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post.
