The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Figueroa's Luis Eudoxio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eliseo Petrigai in the 3rd minute of play. Feliberto Iraido stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Severiano Henrico's shot from short distance in the 8th minute. 10 minutes into the match, Figueroa's goal looked a bit too open when Eliseo Petrigai came free, but Luis Eudoxio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luis Eudoxio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eliseo Petrigai in the 13th minute of play. After 14 played minutes Figueroa got a freekick which was hit by Gonzalo Salomon. In the 27th minute Eliseo Petrigai shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luis Eudoxio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Severiano Henrico might have been able to make a better finish in the 31st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Feliberto Iraido. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Severiano Henrico ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 33rd minute Astor Salamon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luis Eudoxio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 34 minutes into the match, Figueroa's goal looked a bit too open when Eliseo Petrigai came free, but Luis Eudoxio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 36 played minutes Figueroa got a freekick which was hit by Fabio Cresitobalo. After a rather tough play, Figueroa's Jonathan Salamon got a free kick in the 46th minute. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Severiano Henrico was the one to do the kick off. If Severiano Henrico had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Gonzalo Salomon hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. In the 59th minute Astor Salamon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luis Eudoxio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luis Eudoxio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Astor Salamon in the 61st minute of play. Astor Salamon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luis Eudoxio having to interfere. In the 67th minute, Chacarita FC's Niceto Sasoin seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Niceto Sasoin the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Chacarita FC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Niceto Sasoin had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee gave Figueroa a penalty, 69 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Braulio Berto, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Chacarita FC's Feliberto Iraido. 1-0. Leo Dolfos got a throw-in 74 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Romulo Arnas. After a rather tough play, Chacarita FC's Luciano Maore got a free kick in the 82nd minute. The supporters of Figueroa booed when Chacarita FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Erubiel Chale didn't get a good kick on the ball. Figueroa's Severiano Henrico got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Luciano Maore in the 90th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Luis Eudoxio prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 95 minutes into the match, Eliseo Petrigai notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Figueroa's Luis Eudoxio. Luis Eudoxio was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. A collision led to Chacarita FC getting a freekick after 98 minutes play. Erubiel Chale hit a great ball. Figueroa succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Chacarita FC had controlled the match.
