After 11 minutes, Alfonso Maties mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Deportivo Villa Bosch and the Popoy AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 11 played minutes Deportivo Villa Bosch got a freekick which was hit by Alfonso Maties. If Cirilo Arano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 18 minutes, Edelmiro Boni made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. Popoy AFC's Narciso Beturian tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Benito Guib hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. 26 minutes into the match, Deportivo Villa Bosch's goal looked a bit too open when Isaias Perutxo came free, but Jorge Etxatxu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Isaias Perutxo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jorge Etxatxu having to interfere. In the 32ndth minute of the game Edelmiro Boni who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Popoy AFC's Narciso Beturian was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Edelmiro Boni sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Popoy AFC's zone, Edelmiro Boni stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Narciso Beturian came out of the goal and Edelmiro Boni tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 39th match minute, Deportivo Villa Bosch was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alfonso Maties to maneuver through the defense. After 40 played minutes, Popoy AFC's Reynaldo Fidencio shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Jorge Etxatxu came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Popoy AFC reached it. Deportivo Villa Bosch's Jorge Etxatxu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 41st minute of the match, managed to save Deportivo Villa Bosch from getting a goal against them. Edelmiro Boni received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Narciso Beturian tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 45 minutes into the game, Benito Guib was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Deportivo Villa Bosch's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Popoy AFC the free kick. 45 minutes into the game, one of Deportivo Villa Bosch:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Reynaldo Fidencio shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The referee felt a red card was in order, 97 minutes into the game, when Javier Abreu put in a rough tackle. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 97th minute of the game. One of Deportivo Villa Bosch:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Popoy AFC:s goal. In the 100th minute there was a penalty for Popoy AFC. Reynaldo Fidencio stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Jorge Etxatxu. 3-2. When the referee ended the match the Popoy AFC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
