A collision led to Peñarol De Rafaela getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Hugo Tulio hit a great ball. Francisco Norino struck a weak shot in the 17th minute. Mariano Sarracino didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rosario Central. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ladislao Frances in the 30th minute of play forced Peñarol De Rafaela's goalkeeper Mariano Sarracino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 32 minutes into the game, Yago Monesterio cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Alfredo Erroman was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After some careless play in the Peñarol De Rafaela defense, Rogelio Estavan kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Mariano Sarracino. The Peñarol De Rafaela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mariano Sarracino should have stopped the shot. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gonzalo Kiliz in the 38th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Alfredo Erroman saved Rosario Central from getting behind. Alfredo Erroman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gonzalo Kiliz, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. Mariano Sarracino was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 65 played minutes Rosario Central got a freekick which was hit by Norberto Oriol. Alfredo Erroman was out of position in the 76 minute of play, and Joel Veronica capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Joel Veronica really showed his touch with that goal: 4-2. When Gonzalo Kiliz came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the Peñarol De Rafaela fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gonzalo Kiliz couldn't finish the play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Yago Monesterio got free with Alfredo Erroman in the 82nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 91st minute, Yago Monesterio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Rosario Central's zone, Joel Veronica stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alfredo Erroman came out of the goal and Joel Veronica tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ladislao Frances took the ball and in the 96 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Mariano Sarracino. Mariano Sarracino dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-3.
