The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 30th minute Evaristo Santana shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pastor Bernabel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ezequiel Espiridion fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ermegildo Fortun having to interfere. After 33 played minutes negros got a freekick which was hit by Silvano Peio. 34 minutes into the game, Ildefonso Maidana was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Arcadia's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave negros the free kick. After a rather tough play, Arcadia's Ildefonso Maidana got a free kick in the 35th minute. Ermegildo Fortun came out of the goal and Ezequiel Espiridion tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Emilio Vedillo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Through an outstanding action, after 52 minutes, Pastor Bernabel successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After 54 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for negros! 61 minutes into the game, Artemio Salvidor cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Ermegildo Fortun was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Ezequiel Espiridion sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out.
